SUMMER sunshine smiled on the crowds at Bispham with Norbreck Children's Gala on Saturday.
The crowning of Gala Queen Rebecca Sharpe by Blackpool Mayoress Councillor Mrs Sylvia Taylor and the colourful gala procession went without a hitch --apart from minor roadworks on Beaufort Avenue reminiscent of a similar problem two years ago.
Gala committee chairman Nick Hamilton thanked the police for a "sterling effort", and Air Training Corps members for helping to marshal the event. He added: "The day went very well. All our prayers were answered."
