LANCASHIRE County Council's Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs is asking people to support this year's Royal Lancashire Show which gets under way today at Astley Park in Chorley.
County Councillor Tim Ormrod said: "The Royal Lancashire Show is a real showcase for rural enterprise and achievement. Following the setbacks through foot and mouth last year it is especially important that this year the show is successful. I am asking people to go along and take a look at the many, varied skills, crafts and products that are featured. Rural recovery is vital to the future economy of Lancashire and the Royal Lancashire Show plays a special part in publicising and encouraging that recovery. "There will be something for everyone, including the County Council's own marquee so make a date to visit the show."
