A MAGNIFICENT performance with bat and ball saw Leyland beat Fleetwood by an amazing 118 runs to achieve their first 15 point victory of the season.
The batsmen laid the foundations scoring 221 for the loss of six wickets and then the bowlers finished the job dismissing the visitors for just 103.
Preston were comfortably defeated by Blackpool at West Cliff. The home side batted first and could make only 122 with former Blackpool skipper Rudra Singh top scoring with 33. Stephen Croft took 5-30 and David Brookes finished with figures of 4-42.
Blackpool's reply lasted only 25.2 overs as stand-in professional Martin van Jaarsveld blasted 63 not out off only 52 balls with three sixes and six fours as Blackpool cantered home by eight wickets at 125-2.
Leyland Motors managed a losing draw at Lancaster scoring 174 for 5 in reply to a total of 192 for 6 by Lancaster.
