A NEW golf practice area is to be created for members of Pleasington Golf Club, despite council officers suggesting it be refused.
Blackburn with Darwen's planning and highways committee had been advised to reject the scheme because it included the creation of a hardstanding car park in green belt area and that roads near to the land -- including Links Lane and Higher Feniscowles Lane, Blackburn -- could not take any more traffic.
But councillors were told the golf club had agreed to remove the car park and that only about six people a day were expected to use the site so it would not attract much traffic. Councillors then approved the project.
