HAVING just returned from Switzerland and paying £1.20 there for a small rubbish bag, I think it is time we got the show on the road with this kerbside collection.
If we have the money there, let us put it to good use and stop all this unsightly and smelly landfilling by using wheelie bins, and whatever else it takes, to make us all more environmentally friendly.
We can soon be trained to use the correct bag/bin/box for our rubbish.
We are years behind other countries where rubbish disposal is concerned.
Basically, we are very lazy when it comes to grading our rubbish. Provide us with the bins and the rest is up to householders to use them.
It's no good complaining about litter, smelly tips, etc. if we are not prepared to do our bit. Let's get the show on the road, let's be environmentally friendly before it's too late.
