NELSON rocked to the sound of Asian music as the second mela was held at Victoria Park.
Although numbers were down on last year, organiser Marie Davies, a project manager with Mid Pennine Arts, said she was pleased with the event and the number of groups and artists appearing on the stage.
On stage were Unique Sounds, a group from Pakistan, Via Samba from Colne, The Brothers with Different Mothers from Manchester, The Dhamak Collective, a group of East Lancashire people who play Dhol drumming, Imran Ali who is the son of one of Pakistan's most famous singers Imran and Mohammed Raza who has a large following in India and Pakistan..
