FROM a clear-out of some drawers at his home in Stockton-on-Tees, Gordon Tomlinson sends this picture of the victorious team which won the 27th Infantry Brigade's football cup for the Territorials of the East Lancashire's Regiment 4th Battalion.
Gordon, third from the left in the back row, recalls that immediately after the final, in which the East Lancs side beat the 8th Manchesters, they were taken to the officers' mess to celebrate.
Pictured are (left to right): Standing -- Collis, Corgan, Tomlinson, Hargreaves, Wood, Wilkinson, O'Connell and Shackleton. Seated -- Second Lieutenant Drive, Lieutenant Colonel Lake, Major Parkinson (captain), Captain Winstanley and Rudgyard.
