TRAINING equipment has been stolen from St John Ambulance head quarters in Darwen.
Raiders broke in through fire doors at the Blackburn with Darwen St John's Ambulance centre in George Street.
A 28in television, video recorder and computer system worth £1,000 -- used to train the volunteers --were stolen.
St Johns Ambulance spokesman Robert Seddan said: "It is very annoying they have stolen this vital equipment which is essential to train helpers with first aid and procedures.
"We rely on donations to keep St John going so they have stolen form all the people who have kindly donated funds."
DC John Entwisle, of Darwen, said: "It's just not on. The organisation is a charity and they don't need this."
A man has been arrested and released on bail pending further inquiries.
Anyone with more information can contact Darwen police on 01254 701777.
