HAKAN Unsal's move back to Turkey now hinges on the player himself, following his brief spell at Rovers.
As we reported on Saturday, Turkish giants Galatasaray made contact with Rovers about the possibility of re-signing the 29-year-old late last week.
The two clubs have since agreed a fee following further talks over the weekend.
And a deal now looks set to go through before the weekend, providing the player can agree personal terms.
"We have reached an agreement with Galatasaray so it's now down to the player," added Williams.
As I understand it, Rovers will get back the £600,000 they paid for the Turkish international in February.
Souness will then use that money -- plus the cash saved on the player's wages -- to make an improved offer for Thompson, who will cost the club around £3 million.
