ROSSENDALE recorded their second win in three days with a comprehensive victory over a poor Trafford outfit.

They could have helped themselves to far more than the three they scored.

Three goals in 15 minutes before half time did the damage, with Gary Jensen getting off the mark and the ever-impressive Gary Williams bagging a brace.

It was a dull opening 30 minutes in which the visitors had the better of the chances. Mark Andrews pulled off a magnificent double save to deny Collins and Cowley, and he also blocked Flood's effort at the back post.

The breakthrough came on 31 minutes. Craig Sargeson's clever through ball found the feet of Jensen and he slotted the ball home. Jensen nearly had a second shortly after, but this time McMahon denied him with a full length save.

Sargeson supplied Williams with the second, the Dale forward running on to another inch-perfect through ball to slot home, and right on the break Williams beat the keeper to another through ball to wrap up the game.

Just two minutes into the second half, Trafford pulled a goal back, Andrews fumbling Irvine's free kick over the line, but from then on it was all Rossendale.

McMahon was kept busy for the remainder of the game.

He denied Jensen and Walsh with scrambling saves, and somehow managed to keep Flood's misdirected back pass out.

Sargeson was unlucky with a fierce cross shot and Fitzsimmons got in on the act with a low drive.
