NELSON will meet Bishop Auckland in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on Saturday after seeing off the Northern League's Norton and Stockton.
Lee Coldridge gave the Blues the lead after just 12 minutes, blasting an unstoppable shot home.
Striker Dave Gray posed a real threat and Carl Howarth inspired his team mates with his workrate.
Three minutes before half time Gray broke on the right wing and crossed the ball into the middle. Brad Pates struck a superb shot on the half volley to send Nelson in at half time with a two goal lead.
The home side got some reward after 88 minutes when a free kick was driven hard into the Nelson goalmouth and Peter Conway forced home the rebound from close range to give his team a glimmer of hope. Nelson held on for a deserved victory and a tie against Bishop Auckland on Saturday.
