I KNOW the question the fans are all asking is what is happening at Turf Moor?

The truth is we don't know. As players, none of us can believe the start we have made, losing all four of our opening games.

The manager was very unhappy the other night and he had every right to be. He said he was embarrassed but, trust me, none of the players were happy either.

We did not just let him down, we let you the fans down and, most of all, we let ourselves down.

There has been speculation about the gaffer's future but I am sure he will stay and turn things around. When he first came to Burnley we had a bad time of it and, if he was going to go, it would have been then.

The players don't want him to go and, although he was obviously bitterly disappointed, I would be very surprised if he did.

But he turned it around back then and I am sure that he can do it again, although it is as much down to us, the players, as to him.

In training yesterday we had a good talk about everything but there was no screaming and no shouting. The manager knows we have all got to stick together.

We know the club has no money and there will be no new faces coming in so it is up to us to get us out of the mess we are in.

It has been a nightmare for us but we can't dwell on it. We have to keep going, keep battling and dig a result up from somewhere.

Hopefully that will be against my old club Crystal Palace on Saturday because they have not had a great start either. Mind you we thought we had a good chance at Reading and then we lost two late goals and were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline.

The second goal was a killer because we had a free kick on the edge of their box and then a few seconds later they had scored.

The biggest concern we have has got to be the lack of goals. Apart from the match against Sheffield United, where we could have had four or five, we have just not created enough chances. We have not made the other keeper work for his money.

The problem is, if we knew what was going wrong we would put it right. Everyone is frustrated because everyone wants to do well.

It is at times like this we all have to pull together. It is not even the first time we have had a bad losing run, the worst thing is that at this time of the season it just looks terrible.

No points from four games and stuck at the bottom of the table. It is all so different to the start to last season but really, apart from Kevin Ball, it is the same squad of players.
