A YOUNG mother told a jury how she was "hysterical," after she woke from her sleep to find a man trying to sexually attack her.

The woman said she sat sobbing and was shocked, angry and disgusted after she had found Peter Wohlters Roe, 54, naked in her bed.

The alleged victim fought back tears as she gave her evidence in the witness box at Burnley Crown Court.

Roe, then of Wordsworth Close, Oswaldtwistle, denies indecent assault.

Questioned by Tina Langdale, prosecuting, the woman said she had got into bed after a celebration party and had woken up to find the defendant on top of her.

Roe allegedly got close to her and said: "You know you want it."

She told the court she then felt the defendant touch her, push himself up against her and try and have sex.

She tried to push off her alleged attacker, told him "no" and he got off.

Roe then got out of bed and started to get dressed.

She felt angry, shocked and disgusted and was not able to speak to him.
