BLACKPOOL is all ready for the great Illuminations Switch-on and here's what some of them will look like.
Pop heart-throb Ronan Keating does the deed from the Radio 2 arena behind Blackpool's Coral Island at around 9.30pm Friday, August 30.
Popstars Darius, Sugababes, Toploader and A1 will entertain the crowds in the hour-long run-up to the ceremony. And presenter Janis Long will host a live broadcast of the event on Radio 2, 8.30-9.30pm.
Sure to attract attention is the new StratoSphere (pictured). The eye-catching 60ft high dome, on the Prom near Blackpool Pleasure Beach, features dazzling projections of colours and images on its surface.
