There's always been something about thrillers and Bollywood that just doesn't mix.

Maybe it's the fact that no matter how hard film makers try the underlining 'love story' always seeps through somehow. That's the case with Soch. It tells the story of filmstar Raj (Sanjay Kapooor) and his associate Om (Arbaaz Khan).

Whilst conversing one day Om suggest it would be a good idea if they could murder the people they hate and despise in their respective lives. Whilst most people would only talk about this Om goes about doing it with dire consequesces for Raj, who then spends the remainder of the movie in a constant paranoid state.

Thrown into mess are Raj's wife who is just as paranoid as Raj, but for other reasons. She's got this notion that he's having an affair. Well, you'd probably forgive her seen as her husband is always hanging around with a certain Raveena Tandon.

Great plot you might say, well it is but what let's it down like so many attempted Bollywood thrillers is the amount of time given to the love angle. Sometimes there's no need. By doing so the director and scriptwriters destroy the whole notion of mystery and suspense.

We as the viewers then have to spend the latter sections of the flic knowing exactly what's going to happen and when.

It's well acted though and Arbaaz is great as the calculating villain as is Raveena as the other woman with a sense of morality. Maybe the only things in this movie which give us something to think about.
