A CHARITY day in aid of a range of local cause is being held at Earby Conservative Club this week.

On Sunday September 29 revellers at the club can look forward to a host of attractions aimed at raising money for Burnley General Hospital, Alzheimers and Airedale Hospital bowel cancer unit.

The attractions at the event, which will run from 12.30pm -- 12.30am, will include a northern soul DJ, a marquee, CD giveaways, barbecue raffles.

The northern soul DJs include local favourites Ginger Taylor, Terry Davies, Tim Brown and Roman. Music from the 60s, 70s up to the modern day is promised by promoters.

Organisers say that children are welcome to attend, but must leave by 7pm. Admission for the event cost £3.

A spokesman for the club said: "Over the past years we have a had a great response to the all day events and have raised money for worthwhile causes.

"We want people to join us to help raise money while listening and dancing to great soul music.

"Our charity all day events are known as the longest running in East Lancashire."
