A THIEF escaped with a car stereo despite being chased half a mile by the owner of the vehicle he had broken into.
The thief was caught by the man but he escaped after making threats of violence.
He stole a Sony SRCA400 stereo from a car parked in a driveway in Sussex Road, Rishton.
The stereo, serial number i152282138, is worth £150.
The man is described as white, 25 to 26 years old, and had a gap in his teeth on the top row.
He wore a light-coloured training top with a zipper pocket across the chest. the hood was pulled up. He also wore dark trousers.
