EVER fancied yourself as an architect or a town planner?
Now a fun website gives you the chance to try designing your own city, be it a new-look Barcelona or Rio de Janeiro.
Cal Henderson is a young web programmer who has a talent for building simple, clever websites and cool applications.
His latest creation, a joint effort with friend Denise Wilton, is City Creator (www.citycreator.com), a site that lets you play with futuristic town planning.
It's very simple. There's no software to download, it all happens in your browser window.
After starting a new city, you see a blank space on the right and some 3D icons on the right.
Drag an icon into the empty space and drop it wherever you wish.
There are icons for roads, buildings, people, cars and so on. You can drag them around until you've built a city you can be proud of.
Once finished, your city can be e-mailed to your friends as an e-card.
But why on earth did they build it in the first place?
