POLICE have come under fire from a father claiming they are failing to catch a flasher in Bury

The pervert has targeted children in Fairfield Drive three times since April.

His latest act of indecent exposure happened at 3.15pm on Saturday (Sept 21) while a group of five children, boys and girls, were playing in a garden.

He got out of a grey Citroen car wearing shorts and, pretending to fix his car, exposed himself to the children.

The father of one of the girls, who has witnessed all three incidents, said the group of children came running into the house shouting "It's him again!"

Mr Mick Conlon said: "In light of the current abduction cases, it is terrifying to know that this man is returning to the same spot and exposing himself to children.

"In all three incidents this pervert has been described as the same person, in the same grey coloured Citroen car and pretending to work on his car when he exposes himself to children.

"And what are the police doing about it? Absolutely nothing."

The flasher struck in the same street in April and May of this year.

PC John Flowers said officers were treating the matter seriously and were working with the witnesses to get a clear description of the offender.

He said: "All I can say at the moment is that we are investigating the matter.

"In the meantime I would urge parents and children to be on their guard and report anyone acting suspiciously to the police."

In the latest incident the man is described as white, aged in his mid-40s, with dark hair and a bald patch on the crown. He is believed to be driving an L-registered Citroen.

Anyone who knows the identity of the flasher or has information should contact Bury CID on 0161 856 8150 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
