ALMOST 140 pupils from Unsworth Primary School nearly took a foothold in the record books.
They joined thousands of other youngsters in a series of record-breaking attempts at a special "Monster Smash" event in Manchester.
They were trying to set a UK record for the longest linedance, conga, and Chinese Dragon procession.
And while they failed to beat the records in any of the three challenges because they fell just short of the 4,546 people for linedancing, a total of £3,000 was raised for the British Heart Foundation.
The event was held at the GMEX and was supported by the Cheshire Building Society.
