THE former landlord of a Padiham pub has returned to the bar to help out the current landlady.
Tommy Large, 60, of the Britannia Inn, on Guy Street, cut short his retirement after he heard that his friend Deborah Broadley needed help in the pub.
Tommy left the Britannia 18 months ago to go on a round-the-world cruise after spending five years in the pub.
Despite retiring, he could not turn his back on the pub.
Deborah, 39, said: "It's been great having him back, he's been a huge help, all my customers know him.
"He's a well known character about town and a lot of the locals who used to drink in here when he ran the Britannia have returned."
