SHOES up to 400 years old were the subject of a drawing workshop at the Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington.
Helmshore artist Sarah Robinson led the still-life workshop, which attracted participants from throughout East Lancashire.
It was the first time in 50 years that the gallery's collection of rare and ancient shoes was put on display.
The gallery's learning and access officer, Yvonne Robins, said: "Platform shoes originate in the 17th century, when people wore them to keep their feet free from mud. The shoes in our collection were the inspiration for a series of drawings and artwork which will be displayed in the gallery."
The gallery is hosting a free family fun day on Friday from 10am-5pm. It will feature workshops in hat-making and colouring.
