HE'S stormed into top spot in the pop charts recently but in many respects Haroon has already 'been there and done that.'

After all, as lead vocalist and founder memebr of band Awaz his was the first Pakistani pop band to appear on MTV. Haroon went on to compose many hit songs for the band. So it was no surprise to many he decided to go solo and his latest album Lagan has certainty hit the right note..

The album is a mixture of Arabic fusion, pop, romantic ballads, R&B, folk, Punjabi and the desi touch. It includes the smash hits Mahbooba and Mehndi. Other songs on this album certain to grab attention are Masti Bhara Dil, Beqarar, Goriay and the soulful ballad Jao Tum.

Keeping with his tradition of spectacular music videos, Haroon filmed the latest video Mahbooba in Cairo, Egypt. The song is sung half in Urdu by Haroon and half in Arabic by two talented Lebanese singers called Arlette and Silvie. And like most of Lagan was recorded, engineered and mixed by Haroon at his personal studio.

Even members of the Egyptian crew were impressed with the song. Haroon said, "That gave us the idea to release the song in the Arab world. This will be the first release focused towards the ex-pat Indian and Pakistani communities settled worldwide."
