THE wizards behind Google have been up to their tricks again and have unveiled new features on their popular search engine.

Froogle (froogle.google.com) is Google's idea of shopping heaven.

It's much like the normal Google search engine, but it's entirely devoted to shopping.

All you do is tap in the name of the product you're after, and it will show you pictures of them, and links to the sites that are selling them.

The only disadvantage for us is that the whole thing is very US-centric, and won't be of much use for UK-based shoppers, but it's a great idea. What makes Google Viewer such an intriguing idea is this. Rather than do a web search and have to do loads of clicking to find what you want, it lets you do a web search, take your hands off the keyboard, and watch the computer do all the work.

Having found your search results, Google Viewer then shows them, one at a time, for about five seconds or so.

Then it automatically moves on to the next one. Then the next, and so on, until it runs out of results or you get bored.

It's almost hypnotic to sit back and watch the results scroll by.
