EX-BOLTON Wanderers midfielder Mark Patterson is to make an amazing return to Hilton Park as Leigh RMI's assistant boss.
Patterson was part of the best RMI midfield since re-locating to Leigh during the glorious promotion season of 1999-2000. He scored on debut against Lancaster City at the Giant Axe, but the real impact was made alongside such power-houses as Dave Ridings and Brian Butler in the middle of the park.
He returns after spending time at Conference rivals Scarborough, both as a player and a coach. The appointment comes just seven days after Mark Ward resigned as Steve Waywell's number two to carry out media work with West Ham.
