THE past few days has seen a drastic drop in temperatures and overnight frosts and heavy rains forecast with strong winds.

On Sunday Parkers was the venue for a small outside club match. Small skimmer bream featured in the leading weights in the deep water pegs, but most caught fish especially perch from the shallow water pegs, but there was an absence of quality bream despite one being lost by the match winner.

Pleasure anglers fishing the henpens side had better results with skimmer bream featuring in catches.

Jumbles reservoir continues to fish well for small roach from the Horribin Lane side.

On Saturday the 19th Embassy Pairs qualifier took place on Barford Lakes, Norwich with 100 anglers participating for one qualifying pairs place.

Norwich angler Paul Yeomans took top individual weight 69-3-0 and together with his partner Garry Kiddell with 24-2-0 secured top pairs place with 25 points and total weight 23-5-0.

The past weekend saw the first round of the Angling Times. Team Championship Lancashire Division take place on the Lancaster Canal at Salwick fished by 103 anglers.

Tri Cast Highfield got of to a flying start to head the league with 30 points.

In the Bradshaw Fisheries, Wednesday Open fished by 25 anglers.

Top weight fell to J. Blears (Bolton) 64-0-0. In second place T. Burchall (co-op) 58-0-0 and third P. Cunliffe 46-0-0.

Elton Tackles Keith Tryatt fishing Woodland Lakes peg 25 on Partridge took top individual weight all carp with 62-7-0.

Runner-up John Bradshaw (Sensas Gorbolino) with club, barbed, tench, carp from peg 22 on Partridge with 58-2-0.

CHAMPIONSHIP

THE forty foot and sixteen foot drains near Chatteris, Cambridgeshire was the venue for the Championship fished by 480 anglers over the past weekend.

Northants based Martin Brierley won the Championship on the forty foot drain with four fish weighing 27-7-0.

In second place Barry Moore (Boston) with two fish 19-12-0 and third Mike Brittain (Peterborough) with one pike of 19-0-0 to take the largest fish in the contest.

Biggest Zander caught Glen Cooper 10-0-0.

This was the 28th year of this popular event.
