FOLLOWING a week-long break in league proceedings some teams managed to re-arrange outstanding fixtures last week.

However, Seedfield Bowling Club continue to lead the table despite gaining only five points from two games.

Although they beat St Mary's B at home, they were comprehensively defeated when they visited Dobbies A. Dobbies A therefore moved into second place with maximum points from their only match, while both Walshaw B and St Mary's A also won one and lost one and failed to move up to the top spot.

At the bottom of the table Dobbies B recorded their first league win of the season with a 5-1 victory at British Legion.

When Seedfield travelled to St Marys B, P. Dudley took the opening game for the home side, but victory by N. Butterworth in the second and M. Broadhead in the third, just a managed to edge victory by just six points.

When they went to Dobbies though they were always under pressure, as first E. Jones narrowly defeated M. Bennett. P. Spencer also had a closely fought game in the second but came out on top and then D. Samuels, who is currently enjoying a rich vein of good form, thoroughly defeated M. Broadhead to claim all six points for the home side.

St Mary's also had two games, both against Walshaw B, but the first saw them defeated for the first time when they went to Walshaw. G. Farrington won the opener over T. Wilkinson, but wins from A. Rossbottom and P. Eslick swung the match in the home sides favour.

In the return match at St Mary's they were never in any trouble after G. Farrington beat A. Rossbottom 125-78. P. Elisck defeated M. Ryder in the second and also recorded a run of 33, but a final win by P. Turner secured the points for the Saints.

One time leaders, British Legion suffered their fourth defeat on the run when they entertained Dobbies B. M. Dean again won the first game comfortably. The second saw to rookies play against one another with the home player having the best running and ran out easy winner. With the Dobbies side behind as the final game got under way it needed a good win by V. Fox to swing the result their way.

Walshaw A were host to St Mary's B for whom A. Wilson was in good form and gave the visitors an excellent lead.

G. Haynes however, not only proved to be equal to the task of reducing the lead but went further to give the Walshaw side the lead.

When J. Branagan also won the final game the Walshaw side claimed its first win for four matches.
