NOW that Christmas is with us, people are working themselves into a frenzy spending goodness knows how many hours searching for a present for someone who has everything.
What do you buy for a person who has everything? My answer every time is: "Nothing."
It makes more sense to me to buy something for somebody who has nothing. This, to me, is what Christmas and Father Christmas is all about.
I often wonder how many presents are just stuffed into a drawer and not even looked at again.
Think how many pairs of socks are filling drawers around the country, doing nobody any good and think of all the poor souls who don't have a decent pair of socks to wear.
I think it would be nice instead of buying presents for each other, when most of us have more than we need to want, we gave something instead to the charities such as the Salvation Army who would see that presents would go to people who really needed them.
