A COUNCILLOR is urging residents to look no further than their own doorstep when it comes to festive day trips.
Coun Peter Britcliffe, former leader of Hyndburn Council, said the borough had everything anyone could want for a great Christmas.
Coun Britcliffe said: "The traditional carol services are a piece of 'real Christmas' for thousands of people in many churches throughout the area.
"Then what better way than wrapping up warm and visiting one of our football grounds over the festive period.
"If people are taking the day off from the kitchen, the area boasts a superb range of Italian, Chinese, Indian and traditional English pub restaurants of which to choose and what is Christmas without a visit to the 'local'."
