A POSTMASTER and his wife were threatened with a sawn-off shotgun during an armed raid in Whitefield.
Three men wearing balaclavas entered Hillock Post Office in Albery Place, Whitefield, just before 5.30pm on Wednesday. They threatened the 51-year-old postmaster, and demanded he open the safe.
When he explained the safe was on a time delay, the thieves stole cash and mobile phone vouchers from the shop. The men fled, leaving the postmaster and his wife shaken but unhurt.
Anyone with information should contact 0161 856 8240 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Det Con Pete Graham, from Whitefield CID, said: "The postmaster was extremely calm throughout the ordeal and helped to diffuse the situation."
