BACK to back away wins have helped to lift Gillingham to within a point of the Clarets and now they will be hoping to find their form at home.

The Priestfield Stadium was a happy hunting ground for Andy Hessenthaler's men last season but it has been less so this time around.

They have already lost four times on their own patch, winning just three, and they have taken five more points while on their travels.

Hessenthaler has been hampered by injuries to the two strikers he has brought into the club, former top-flight players Rod Wallace and Tommy Johnson.

The latter is still on the injured list as they prepare to take on the Clarets but Wallace has returned to the side and scored in last Saturday's 2-0 win at bottom side Sheffield Wednesday.

That result followed the ending of a seven match run without a win at Bradford City when Wallace was again on the score-sheet.

The Gills did get a boost earlier in the season when last season's top scorer Marlon King returned to the club after a brief spell when he was detained at Her Majesty's pleasure.

He struck a season's best 17 league goals last term as Gillingham enjoyed a successful first campaign in the second tier of English football.

Hessenthaler continues to be the player-manager and is still competitive at the age of 37. He will feature in a three-man midfield along side Paul Smith and Mark Saunders.

The key man could be Paul Shaw, a successful loan signing at Turf Moor eight seasons ago when he was an Arsenal player. He will play in the hole behind King and Wallace and hope to cause the Clarets problems.
