THIEVES were thwarted in a bid to steal £ 1,000 worth of tools from a van parked at Langdale Road, Lancaster.
Two men had removed tools from the van ready for loading into a waiting black coloured Honda Civic car when they were disturbed in the early hours on Sunday - and quickly made their escape.
One man is described as white, heavily built and in his 30s while the second was only seen in the passenger seat of the car, which made off towards Caton road.
