TWO men attempted to lure eight-year-old girls into their car with a promise of a cup of tea and the chance to see some animals.
The alarm was raised by the mother of one of the girls after she and her friend had been approached in Heysham on Sunday.
The same girls had also been approached on Saturday, but did not mention the incident to parents.
The men followed the girls down Combermere Road in a car described as a black Vauxhall Cavalier or Carlton and made their approach close to Trumacar school.
Det Sgt Mark Salisbury says: "We would ask parents in that area to advise their children to watch out accordingly.
These children have got to be commended for not getting into the vehicle."
