A WOMAN was pushed into a wall as she fought off a man who was trying to steal her handbag.
The 49-year-old was walking home along Barley Cop Lane at 4.20pm on Monday when the bag, which was across her shoulder, was grabbed.
She kicked out at her attacker, and he pushed her into a brick wall, injuring the left side of her head.
However, he failed to steal the bag.
The man is described as white, five feet two to five feet four inches tall, in his early 20s, slim and clean shaven, wearing a puffa style jacket, dark woolly hat and gloves.
