RADCLIFFE Borough go into their gruelling festive period fresh and raring to go after their clash with Ossett Town was called off due to the weather.

Although disappointing, it means Boro have few injuries as they attempt to extend their winning run that has propelled them into promotion contention.

Scott Wilson is a major doubt for Saturday's game at Kendal Town and Neill Hardy starts his four game suspension for his recent sending-off but apart from that manager Kevin Glendon has a full hand.

Glendon said: "Scott is struggling with his ankle and Neill is suspended. It's disappointing to lose Neill over such an important period but he has apologised to the club for what was a silly dismissal.

"Christmas and Easter are traditionally a good indication of what will happen come May and this year will be no different. We were disappointed to have last week's game postponed and now we have to make sure we can maintain our form.

The game on Saturday is a revenge mission of Borough as they attempt to avenge the 3-0 defeat when the teams met at the start of the season. Kendal also beat high-flying Belper 3-0 last week and are traditonally a hard team to beat.

Rossendale United are the visitors on Boxing Day and Glendon is keen to put on a good performance in a game he hopes will attract a good crowd.

"Obviously the Rossendale game is a derby and we will be hoping to put on a show for what we hope to be a decent sized crowd.

"It is going to be difficult as United have had a change in management and they have changed some of their playing personnel so it should make a for a more competitive game. Hopefully we can grab the three points."

On the transfer front, Glendon has brought in utility player Ian Gibson, formerly of Chorley, in an attempt to add depth to his squad.

Highly-rated goalkeeper Danny Hurst is having a trail with First Division strugglers Sheffield Wednesday early in January.
