A BLACKPOOL family are tripping the light fantastic once again this Christmas -- and hoping to raise thousands for charity in the process.
Sue and Frank Severn, and Sue's daughter Sharon Doughty and her husband Bob have converted their neighbouring houses on Waterloo Road into a twinkling Christmas extravaganza.
The festive fiesta, at 249 and 251, featured in the Christmas edition of The Citizen last year. But this year the display is even more amazing, with life-size carol singers, an old-fashioned toy shop, even a log cabin for Santa's grotto.
"The neighbours say we're doing a marvellous job," said Frank. "And last night I was talking to people who have come from Cumbria to see the display. We really enjoy doing it."
And visitors can meet Father Christmas at the grotto this Saturday and Sunday, 6.30-8pm. Donations for Children in Need are welcome -- last year the family managed to raise a whopping £3450 for the appeal.
