CHILDREN'S charity KIND is working in partnership with Blackburn, Darwen and District Women's Aid this Christmas to bring festive cheer to underprivileged children.
It is the first time KIND have extended its Christmas Appeal to families in Blackburn and will be delivering 20 hampers, worth up to £1,000 to Blackburn's Women's Information and Self Help (WISH) centre, Cardwell Place, on Sunday.
Linda Thomson, Project Manager of the WISH centre, said: "This will be a tremendous boost to families we work with and help bring a little Christmas cheer into what otherwise would have been a very bleak time. We would like to thank all at KIND for their generosity."
"It is so uplifting for staff here when people are able to help with donations."
Stephen Yip MBE, founder of KIND, said: "Each year we organise a major Christmas Appeal to help children and families have a happier and less stressful time over the Christmas period by the provision of family-sized food hampers and toy parcels.
"As important as the material gifts is the knowledge to the families that others in the community care about them and their problems."
