A MAN has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with deception offences involving holidays to Mexico, a Mercedes car and air travel.

Edward John Van Vessen, 26, currently living in Hollywell Drive, Preston, and formerly of FA Halleweg 11, Amstelveen, Holland, was ordered to stand trial at Preston Crown Court on six charges.

They included obtaining £4,000 from Jason Carey as deposit for a Mercedes car, obtaining by deception £2,250 from Angela Webb for a holiday in Mexico, obtaining £1,716 by deception for a second holiday in Mexico, obtaining services by deception from Easyjet and credit card offences involving designer clothes worth £909 and obtaining advertising for Eurocars by deception from the Lancashire Evening Post.

He was remanded on bail until February 14 for the preparation of commital papers.
