COUNCILLOR Kevin Connor (Letters, December 10) hits the nail firmly on the head with regard to the unfair distribution of any large cash dispersal, be it from Europe or otherwise, within Blackburn with Darwen.
The dictatorial council executive is only too fond of telling us that its not our money as it comes from Europe, or it's government cash which they must disperse according to their rulings.
Nonsense! -- wherever it comes from, the people of the borough have first of all paid it into the coffers of the government which, in turn, distributes the same in billions to the so-called European fund.
Have these councillors no voice in the Labour government they support, or do they go weak at the knees when their leader, Tony Blair, speaks?
This socially perceived imbalance of distribution needs to be re-addressed for if certain parties continue to receive the wealth we all help to create at the expense of the vast majority of others who are also equally entitled to their share, then there will be dire consequences.
The very workings of this present dictatorial set-up of the executive must quickly be changed, for it is far from a democratic one.
Roll on 2004 when the voters have their say at the ballot box.
