A FINAL decision on prospective traffic calming measures on Greenway Street, Darwen, will be made by the council in January.
Eleven accidents, five involving children, have occurred on the street which runs parallel to Blackburn Road.
Councillors pledged to make the road safer and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council agreed to carry out traffic calming measures to help reduce the number of accidents.
Coun Dave Smith, of Sunnyhurst ward, said: "Nothing specific has been decided as yet and we are going through the consultation process now. We need to consult with residents and find out what they think."
The council announced this week that specific schemes targeted by the Local Transport Plan would be decided on by mid-January.
