ACTIVE volunteers are sought to lead others into the great outdoors.
Wigan Council's Outdoor Education and Duke of Edinburgh's Awards team is seeking 12 people, aged 18-plus, to take part in a special, nationally recognised training course -- the Basic Expedition Leaders' Award (BELA).
The BELA course involves 90 hours work between February and May, plus three weekends for training. An explanatory session starts at 7.30pm on Thursday, January 30, at Worsley Mesnes Outdoor Activity Stores, Wigan. Contact Joan Steele on 01942 769813.
