MAGISTRATES adjourned a prosecution against the owners of Camelot Theme Park to allow time for forensic engineers to submit reports.
Prime Resorts Ltd, which runs the park at Charnock Richard, Chorley, is accused of two offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act following the death of an employee working on the 'Gauntlet' ride in October 2001.
Wigan man Harold Matthews, 59, was killed while working on the rollercoaster and bosses closed the park for two days as a mark of respect.
Park owners are accused of not adequately assessing safety risks on the ride and not carrying out their duty to ensure the safety of employees.
Mark Whalley, defending, asked chairman of the bench Michael Riley to consider an adjournment to allow a lengthy forensic engineer's report to be completed. South Ribble Magistrates agreed to hear further representations on Wednesday February 19.
