BURNLEY Football Club today issued 12 more life bans to people convicted of football related offences.

Those banned all have convictions for a number of offences, at both home and away matches.

They include affray, racial chanting, attempting to enter a sports ground while drunk, being drunk and disorderly, contravening section 4 of the Public Order Act and pitch encroachment.

A club spokesman said: "Once again Burnley Football Club has acted to rid the club of a small minority of so-called supporters intent on spoiling the enjoyment of the many decent fans who support Burnley both at home and away.

"The club's stance is simple. Anyone convicted of a football-related offence will be banned for life from Turf Moor."

Safety Officer Alex Wood added: "The club would like to remind everyone that it will not tolerate anti-social behaviour, including racial abuse or foul language.

"The chairman and directors are striving to make the club family orientated, so that spectators can enjoy football without the worry of any form of trouble.

"The club will take action against any individuals who are found guilty of committing any form of football-related violence and anyone found guilty will receive a life ban from Turf Moor."
