TWO mobile phone users had their handsets snatched from their grasp while using them in separate incidents on Friday (Jan 24).
The first incident happened at 3pm in Market Street, Bury, when an 18-year-old girl was texting a friend when a man ran up behind her and grabbed her phone.
Later the same day, at 10.30pm, a man riding a red mountain bike carried out a ride-by raid on a 19-year-old man in Albert Avenue, Prestwich. The cyclist snatched the victim's mobile phone as he sped past. The victim said the thief was wearing a blue hooded jumper and dark tracksuit bottoms.
Now, police in Bury are seeking witnesses to either of the street crimes and urge anyone with information to contact them 061 856 8150 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
