REGARDING Mrs Amanda Davison's complaint that the grant of £74,000 to clean up Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen, puts the wellbeing of trees before people (Letters, January 20), she could not be more wrong.
Clearly, some people including some major decision-makers, still do not understand how the planet works. Trees are not just a luxury.
Indeed, without trees there would be no oxygen in the atmosphere -- which I assume Mrs Davison breathes.
As for her comment about the unemployed, obviously, people will need to be employed to carry out the tree work.
