YOUNG people from various cultural backgrounds spent the day together on Saturday to discuss issues which affect their lives on a daily basis.

The Burnley District Youth Council is there to represent the views of all young people in the borough and this weekend the members met for a seminar at the district's youth and community office, in Finsley Gate.

The group, who were mixed sex, ages and races, shared their experiences in a bid to find a way to live together in peace and learn more about each other.

The youth council is open to local people between the ages of 11 and 25 years and meets every Thursday night, between 7 and 9.30pm, at the office in Finsley Gate.
