A LEYLAND lad who was diagnosed with asthma when he was a toddler has become a sporting champ and the face of a national campaign to promote goats milk.
Marcus Jackson, 15, of Croston Road, Farington Moss, has been chosen to front the campaign by the St Helen's Farm food distribution company.
Marcus played for a Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers under 15s and now represents the Lancashire youth team at rugby union. He said: "I love rugby and football but decided to focus on rugby because I'm in the first team at school." His mother Anne explained why he agreed to dothe campaign.
"When Marcus was a child he was was told by doctors he would be on inhalers for the rest of his life. A naturopath suggested he may have a food intolerance to dairy products.
"So we started giving Marcus soya products and goat products and he has been a different person since."
