IN a previous column I asked readers to let me know of any sightings of grey herons.
As usual you did not let me down. Joan Ellis, of Skipton, walks a lot in the Ribble Valley and told me that during the snow she saw three "hungry looking herons" near Gisburn Park Hospital and five roosting in conifers above Black Moss reservoir near Barley.
Mr L Morrison of Burnley sent a postcard saying he saw herons on Rowley Lake and another couple on an old lodge in Rawtenstall and visible from the M66.
