POLICE are sending out a message to Darwen businesses after burglars tried to break their way into two premises.
Officers were called to Queen Street and nearby Tockholes Road where burglars attempted to climb into buildings through the roof.
PC Dave Allen of Darwen Police said: "In both cases tiles were removed from the roof and that's how they attempted to gain entry.
"Businesses in the area need to be aware that there might be people who are targeting them and they should ensure that they keep any petty cash on the premises locked away in a safe."
