OPPOSING war with Saddam Hussein is just the way to ensure there will be war. Saddam will latch on to all the 'no war' pressure and keep on ignoring the UN. All-out support for war might just make him back away from non-co-operation.
Every year -- it's been 12 now -- he gets stronger, better armed, more entrenched and more dangerous.
This person wiped out the Marsh Arabs and decimated the Kurds -- people who were his people. We are paying now for not finishing him last time. Let him off the hook and we will live to regret it.
George Bush may be doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, but there is no doubt it is the right thing. Let's hope in the end Saddam opts to save his neck, but let's not keep giving him hope and comfort.
